Get to Know Dr. Yiou Wang
Dr. Yiou Wang grew up in Montgomery, New Jersey. He began his undergraduate studies at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, where he was accepted into the university’s Joint BA/DMD program. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Wang’s interest in dentistry began in high school after meeting a dentist who showed him just how meaningful the dentist-patient relationship can be. Inspired by the opportunity to combine hands-on care with lasting personal connections, he chose to pursue a career in dentistry. Today, he strives to build those same trusting relationships with his own patients while helping them feel comfortable and confident in their care.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Following dental school, Dr. Wang continued his training through a General Practice Residency with the New Jersey Veterans Health System. This experience allowed him to further develop his clinical skills while providing comprehensive dental care to a diverse patient population.
Outside the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Outside the office, Dr. Wang enjoys staying active through running and pickleball. He also has a creative side and enjoys baking macarons, cooking, drawing, and playing guitar. When he’s not pursuing one of his many hobbies, he’s always happy to make time for a good nap.
